Custom printed lip balms are among our most popular and cost-effective promotional products, which is why we offer hundreds of unique options to our customers at Health Promotions Now. Our goal is to provide enough product variety that every client is able to create a custom gift that’s truly one of a kind. However, we know this can sometimes make it difficult for you to choose just one.

Here is a quick guide to the various types of lip balms we offer, to help you decide which one is best for you.

Types of Lip Balm Formulas

Moisturizer

Moisturizers are fast absorbing emollients that leave a thin, breathable and often creamy or balmy textured layer on the lips. It offers fast relief of the discomforts associated with dry skin. Most of our moisturizing formulas contain ingredients like natural oils, shea and cocoa butters, lanolin and honey which are all beneficial to the skin.

Barrier Protection

Barrier lip balms, like those that contain petroleum – a slippery protectant – or beeswax – a more solid and dense protectant – create a moisture and pollutant repellent layer on the lips which allows them to heal themselves without the interference of any outside elements.

Medicated Treatment

For very dry, chapped or cracked lips, medicated treatments contain properties that heal and soothe. They typically contain a barrier protection element to enable a speedy healing process as well. Ingredients in medicated treatment lip balms often include an SPF protectant, camphor and/or menthol and other mint oils.

For triple the benefits, Health Promotions Now carries a variety of all-natural lip balms that contain all three of these formulary properties.

Lip Balm Formulas

Our Basic Lip Balm Categories Based on Major Ingredients

All-Natural

All natural lip balms contain no artificial or chemically altered ingredients. They are derived from naturally grown or harvested oils and butters from fruits, seeds or nuts. Coconut, grapeseed, almond or shea oils and butters are most commonly used, as well as all-natural beeswax or soy wax.

Organic USDA Certified

Organic USDA Certified lip balms also contain all-natural ingredients, but they have been grown and processed according to federal guidelines and standards. It is important to remember that you must order Organic USDA Certified lip balms if your organization requires it, as some all-natural lip balms may not have been certified as organic.

Beeswax

Beeswax is a natural wax produced and discarded by honey bees in or at a hive. Since the substance is discarded, it can be harvested without harming the bees or their natural environment. It is used to make many types if lip balms, skin moisturizers, and candles – and even finds its place in many homemade household remedies.

SPF/Broad Spectrum

Our lips need just as much protection from the sun’s harmful UV rays as the rest of our skin does. This is why most lip balms contain at least a small amount of SPF protection, even if it’s not advertised. For maximum protection, a lip balm with an SPF of 30 is recommended. You can find plenty of these in our collection.

Petroleum

Petroleum is a lubricant gel that moisturizes the skin while also providing a protective barrier. You can find miniature versions of the classic petroleum tubs, like the Rosey Petroleum Lip Treatment Pot, Cocoa Butter Petroleum Lip Treatment Pot and Original Petroleum Lip Treatment Pot in our product line. Petroleum Jelly Lip Balms in a squeeze tube are also available.

Shine/Gloss

Lip Gloss is more of a cosmetic than a lip protectant, but still has moisturizing properties that can help ease the effects of dry lips. We offer a wide variety of clear and colored custom lip glosses that are popular with organizations that cater mainly to women and teens.
